Timetide is a schedule tracker for university and school students. You add your semesters, subjects, and recurring lessons — and Timetide shows your next class as a Live Activity on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, so you always know what's next without unlocking your phone.

Timetide requires iOS 26 or later on iPhone. That is the version that lets the countdown start on your Lock Screen by itself before class, without you opening the app. iPad and Android are not currently supported.

The Dynamic Island feature requires an iPhone 14 Pro or later. On older iPhones the Live Activity appears on the Lock Screen only.

No. Timetide requires no account, no sign-up, and no email address. You download the app and start adding your schedule straight away.

Yes, optionally. Timetide can sync your semesters, subjects, lessons, and student profile across your Apple devices via your private iCloud account. iCloud sync is optional — you can turn it off in Settings and keep everything on one device only.

We never see your data. iCloud sync goes directly between your devices via Apple's infrastructure.

Timetide supports the following lesson types:

Lessons can recur weekly or bi-weekly, or be set as one-time events.

You don’t need to open the app — the countdown schedules itself and appears on its own. By default it shows up 30 minutes before a class starts, so if your next class is further away than that, nothing is showing yet and nothing is wrong.

If it still doesn’t appear:

• Check the lead time. How far ahead the countdown appears is a setting in Timetide, so you can make it earlier or later than 30 minutes.
• One-time lessons don’t schedule ahead. Only lessons set to repeat weekly or bi-weekly start the countdown automatically.
• iOS holds five countdowns at a time. Countdowns for later classes are queued five at a time, and finished countdowns still on your Lock Screen keep their place until dismissed. In a busy week, open Timetide now and then to top the queue back up.
• Allow Live Activities. They can be switched off for an individual app in iOS Settings, and off for the Lock Screen generally.
• Check your iOS version. Scheduling the countdown ahead of class needs iOS 26 or later.

• Changes apply the next time you open the app. If you change when you’re reminded, open Timetide once so it can reschedule.

Timetide is launching worldwide on the App Store. It's built in the European Union and designed to comply with GDPR from day one.

No. Your schedule data and student profile are stored locally on your device using SwiftData. If you enable iCloud sync, they move privately through Apple's infrastructure to your other devices. None of this data ever reaches our servers — it's structurally impossible for us to access it.

Once a year, Timetide will publish aggregate trends across all contributing students — things like which lesson types are most common and which schools are represented. The first edition comes after the app has been out for a full academic year.

Participation is entirely opt-in. If you don't turn it on, none of your lesson data leaves your device. If you do opt in, a weekly anonymous snapshot of your lesson stats is sent to our EU servers. Your name, Apple ID, location, and lesson notes are never collected. See how your data works for the full breakdown.

Yes — anonymous product analytics via PostHog (EU-hosted). It records things like app opens, which main tabs and features you use, and automatic crash reports, so we know what to improve and what to fix. No advertising tracking, no personal profiles, and never your schedule, subject names, or lesson content. Full details in the Privacy policy.

To erase everything without deleting the app, use Settings → Delete all data. It removes your data from this device and from iCloud, and cancels scheduled reminders and countdowns.

Deleting the app removes all local data from your device. If you had iCloud sync enabled, your data remains in your iCloud account until you remove it via iOS Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Storage.

If you opted in to the Community Year in Review, any data already synced remains in the anonymous aggregate — but since it was never linked to your identity, it can't be traced or removed individually.
